Independent Stain Tests on Marblecast Basins for BMW HO

a "stain" test was performed on the Marblecast basin to confirm that it doesn't stain using some common and unusual liquids.The results were positive and as you can see in the above pics, after a bit of cleaning with Handy Andy and Domestos all the stains were gone.
The hardest substance to clean off the vanity was in fact the permanent marker used to label the various substances!

Travertine is one of several natural stones that are used for paving patios and garden paths.
It is sometimes known as travertine limestone, sometimes as travertine marble, these are the same stone, even though it is neither limestone nor marble.
The stone is characterized by pitted holes and troughs in its surface. Although
these troughs occur naturally, they suggest to some eyes that considerable
wear and tear has occurred over many years.
Some installers use a grout to fill these holes, whereas others leave them
open — travertine can even be purchased "filled" or "unfilled." It can be
effectively polished to a smooth, shiny finish and comes in a variety of colors
from grey to coral-red.

All PAR-KY veneer floors are finished with an environmentally friendly, hardened lacquer with nearly no volatile organic substances emission. The veneer flooring is coloured with an antibacterial layer called ‘Ultrafresh’, which makes it impossible for bacteria to house in the grooves.

For the production of PAR-KY veneer flooring, up to 25 times less wood than for solid flooring is needed. With one m3 of wood, they can produce 700 to 1000 m2 of veneer flooring.

In comparison: solid wood with a thickness of 15 mm has a useful net surface of 40 m2.

Is bamboo really a renewable resource?
Cutting bamboo stalks actually promotes faster growth in the plant. Unlike hardwood trees, the bamboo stumps and young culms are left behind and can be harvested in the future. The plant is therefore not totally destroyed as in hardwood harvesting. Bamboo matures after 4 to 6 years, unlike hardwood that may take decades.
Bamboo flooring and heating?
Bamboo flooring is absolutely compatible with underfloor heating systems. Bamboo as a material is more stable than wood and will therefore expand/contract less under heating. Bear in mind that bamboo is a natural insulator and the heating is not immediately evident. The heating system needs to cover the entire area under the floor and needs to be capped at a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius.
What happens if I damage my bamboo floor?
It is inevitable that your floor will become damaged at some point. This is no different to solid timber, laminate or any other natural flooring. The type of damage will dictate the best course of action. Ecostrong provide a care kit that you can use to fix minor damage and scratches yourself. One of the great advantages of Ecostrong pre-finished floor is that damaged boards can be easily rectified. In most cases a great result is achieved by simply cutting out and replacing the damaged boards returning your floor to its original condition.

personally I was never a fan of Engineered Timber Flooring - till now that is, the reasons are actually quite obvious:
1) Environmental Wood Usage - over 75% of this finished product is from plantation species. (Hevea Core, a plantation species that yields natural latex)
2) Stability - 3Ply Engineered Flooring is more stable due to the cross lamination of timber. It holds its form and reduces its inclination to twist and turn like solid timber
3) Efficiency - As this product is pre-finished, ready to walk on almost 24 hours after laying, whereas the average time required to fit raw flooring is about 1 week
